This half term our topic is Children of the World.

Writing - Instructions

We will be writing instructions on How to Rescue a Princess.

Writing - Poetry

We will be writing our own poems based on the poem of Kit Wright 'The Magic Box'.

Spelling and Grammar

We will be learning all the different rules that apply when adding suffixes to root words.

We will be learning how to use commas in lists.


As well as weekly guided reading and independent reading, we will also be writing answers to reading comprehension questions.

In our English lessons we will be looking at non-fiction texts related to our topic and instructions.  We will also be exploring poetry.

On World Book Day we will be focussing on the author Megan Mcdonald, best known for her books based on two characters called Stink and Judy Moody.
